Review on πŸ•―οΈ Sunlite ShabBulb Shabbat Permissible Equivalent: Transforming Lighting for Shabbat Observance by Katie Garcia

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great idea, but impractical for most Sabbath situations.

I was dying to like this lamp as it would be great to use a less distinctive Shabbat lamp than a classic tower, so I tried these lamps as a bedside lamp that I can turn on before bed and then turn off (I would not recommend it in the guest room as this would require too much attention from the guests). The Bad: They are difficult to move without touching another part of the lamp i.e. the mukza. Although the lightbulb is specifically designed to be touched on Shabbat, sometimes when the switch was rotated the base of the lightbulb moved and I had to catch the lightbulb. Also, the light never goes out completely. Sensitive sleepers will fret about the glow of the 'closed' light and I was surprised it couldn't go completely dark like the competition. Pros: It worked well as a dimmer and I could see it being really useful in life. Counting. They are also cheaper than other options.
