Wasn't expecting much for the price but was encouraged by all the positive reviews. /Hygrometer in the same room. Unfortunately, my fears were confirmed. In a room with a temperature of 74 degrees, it constantly showed 60 degrees. At a relative humidity of 30%, it shows a constant 50%. If you push FIRMLY on the protruding brass hinge screws on the back of the case, the transparent front panel will eventually pop out and the entire assembly is in your hands. There are two spring-loaded pointers, each in a small circular plastic holder that rotates and is glued to a plastic card that contains the temperature and humidity scales. A faint attempt was made at the factory to stabilize them with a dab of glue, but in reality they still spin relatively freely. If the entire assembly is removed, there is no problem manually calibrating it against a "known good" device. In my case there are two. After that, I put all three thermometers in different environments and further tweaked them to get the best "average" accuracy. Focus on average temperatures and humidity as most important. Slide the map and front windows back into place, and then I have a battery-free device with at least reasonable accuracy. Also the satisfaction that the product works better!
