Review on Ultimate Comfort: Darn Tough Tactical Over The Calf Extra Cushion Sock by Sean Tops

These Merino wool socks are very well made. I bought them for a trip to Yellowstone this winter. Advantages: High merino content. You will be very warm and breathable. Full height cushion. They have more cushioning in the foot and throughout the leg than any other sock I've tried. They should insulate well and be protected from abrasion by the high cuffs of the boots. Cons: Since they are so thick, you may need to go up a size. I was hoping to wear them in my Zamberlan Zions and Pow Pow winter boots (both of which I already bought 1/2 size larger to accommodate thick socks and orthotics). I don't think I can use them with my existing winter boots (just too tight). I recommend buying socks before buying boots to go with them.
