When I ordered this product, Amazon didn't provide a shipping estimate for several days and I had no idea when they would be able to ship it. They arrived a week after purchase, so the delivery time was normal. The main problem that arose immediately was that the package in the photo shows six magnets and the instructions refer to six magnets, but my package (sealed) only arrived with four. You can buy other spoke magnets here on Amazon, but ok, I don't have to. There is a small paragraph on the back of the box with instructions in English and German, but it's completely useless. Fortunately, the process is quite simple. Brackets (plastic, with a plastic set screw) attach to the bike frame, and the lights bolt to the brackets. Small cylindrical magnets have a back that unscrews and slides onto a spoke. It then needs to be adjusted a bit to find a sweet spot where the magnets get close enough to the light to activate it. Set it too high, close to the hoop, and the spoke will be too far away when it comes through. Installation and configuration takes around 20-40 minutes depending on how mechanical a person is. The tools required are at least a flathead screwdriver, but a flathead and Phillips screwdriver is better. The lights themselves are made of plastic and are lightweight. I don't want my bike to fall on its side while they're installed because I don't know how much impact they can take. I may have to be careful not to ride into the light when lugging my bike up and down the stairs to my apartment. The light turns on when the magnets pass with sufficient speed. Too slow and no light. The faster the wheel spins, the brighter and faster the flashes. If I had three magnets on the wheel instead of two, I would have a higher blink rate, perhaps approaching a constant on, but two seem to do the trick. There doesn't appear to be a capacitor (or I haven't played with it enough to activate it) so the light goes out when the wheel stops. I really like the concept of magnetic induction lamps. The advantages are obvious - no need to buy batteries and charge anything. I wanted a set of Reelights SL120 (condenser turn signals so they keep flashing when stopped) but they are attached to the wheel hub and I often disconnect the front quick release wheel as well as the front disc brake which would get in the way without a brake. expensive long brackets. The benefit of this kit is that it mounts to the frame so the type of brake doesn't matter and I can add/remove the wheel as I please. It is difficult to judge the brightness of the light because closer to the solstice we have almost 24 hours. days in Alaska. I can see it blinking and there is a big LED light. The ambient reflector (about 2 inches in diameter) is good. I think they will be a good light source for daylight and twilight, especially to warn other cyclists and pedestrians on the bike lanes, which I use most of the time. I don't expect them to be my only ones. Night Lights - I will add at least one bright stable spotlight. Will update the rating if necessary. If allowed, I would give the set 3.5 stars. Minus one star for 2 missing magnets and minus half a star for cheap plastic mounts and bad directions. That's still two headlights for less than $40 with no hassle of batteries or recharging.
