This is my second radio, the original went off the counter and broke after 19 years of use. 19 years. The old one had analogue TV channels and this new one. being replaced (well, not anymore) by VHF amateur radio bands. AM picks up stations fairly well, but the addition of an external AM antenna puts it in a different league. VHF is pretty good, but at certain times of the day here in Savannah. GA we get that some stations are covered by stronger stations. Again, adding an external VHF antenna will fix the problem. The sound quality is excellent for a plastic box. String is a requirement. The weather stations are pre-configured, so find your location and set it. Be careful when setting up automatic weather alerts. mad at you in the middle of the night Clock and clock radio work. In general, this is a great tool for receiving distant radio signals.
