Review on πŸ”Š Smart White Mini Wi-Fi Speaker with Alexa Integration: Complete Home Automation by Duane Kerr

It's good if the socket is easy to reach

They were easy to connect with instructions and integrated well with Alexa. That being said, sometimes it loses connection and the device stops working together. I mean, I can't even use the button on the side of the device to manually turn the light on and off. I have to unplug and plug it back in for it to work again. The last point is especially important for those who use it in a hard-to-reach place (e.g. behind a sofa or bed) - be ready to push the furniture a few times a month to get it working again. I use them in my switch sockets to control the lights. I can use my voice to turn on the light under the closet when my hands are full or dirty. This allows me to reset the switch fairly easily if it starts to jiggle, but it's still a little frustrating. I also wish this could be integrated with SmartThings or IFTTT so we can automate the lighting. I didn't blame them as I knew it wasn't supported, but wanted to express my wish in case the developers read to make it happen.

Pros
  • Simple and convenient wall socket
Cons
  • Very expensive
