Review on Westcott Scissors 5 Inch Assorted 13130 by Angela Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is physically impossible to make double-ended scissors.

Don't think these scissors are really left-handed. The handles can be shaped to fit either hand, but in order for them to be truly left-handed scissors, the blades must be reversed. It is physically impossible to make double-ended scissors. Hold the scissors open in front of you, the blade away from you and a handle in each hand. If the blade comes out of the left hand at the top, then it really is left-handed scissors. If it's right, they just don't cut well when used with the left hand. The natural cutting motion of the hand pulls the blades apart instead of bringing them together and the paper slips between the blades, which is quite frustrating for a preschooler learning to use scissors. If you are looking for scissors for your left handed child I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Premium Blades: Durable, safety-ground stainless steel blades with rounded tips
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
