For a $100 mic, Shure should be replaced worldwide immediately. They outperformed the '58s long enough to force the SE into low-cost professional momentum. It doesn't kill the vocals, requires a huge amount of EQ like the '58s and of course has better sounding highs. When used on an acoustic guitar it has a very nice raw sound, comparable to some of the studio condenser mics I've used. I can't compare it to all mics, but in a world where millions of sm58s are used every day, here is your much better alternative at the same price.
