My favorite lens. For many staffers 24-70, but I prefer to work with long focal lengths, so 70-300 is my choice. If you're choosing between it and the 70200G, forget about the latter, it's just a piece of g. If you're thinking about the 100400GM, it's a good alternative, but heavier and more expensive. Got pros: Amazing stabilization, no problem shooting sharp shots at the long end handheld up to 1/10 of a second. In terms of sharpness, it is in no way inferior to the GM line. Compared with 70200GM on equivalent focal lengths in the same conditions - 1v1 picture. Of course, it doesnβt reach fixes, but for zoom itβs very good. Reliability. Both in the rain and in the snow. The dust does not swallow, after two years of active use there is not a speck of dust inside. And shaking, and falling, all he cares about. Cons: As always, I would like less weight, but you canβt fool physics.
