I've tried many, MANY baby gates and this is by far the best. Let me list the pros and cons: Pros: Durability: The gate is sturdy and sticks to the wall very well with no need to drill or glue anything to the walls. Every other gate I've tried either didn't stick well to the wall unless it was very tight, or was difficult or almost impossible to open when tight. The frame is strong and thick, so it shouldn't break easily. - Childproof opening mechanism: The mechanism requires 2 hands to open and hit my 6 and 4 year olds. But when I explained it to them they were able to open it easily but my last one can't until she is at least 2 years old. - Automatic closing mechanism: closes quickly by itself thanks to a simple and reliable system. There are no springs or small parts that could break so easily. Can stay open when you need it: just leave the door open at a 90 degree angle and voila! It stays open while I carry dishes in and out of the kitchen. 2 different extensions for large holes. Cons: Ideally, I'd like a way to disable the child lock so it's easier to open when your hands are full. I would like the gate to come with a wall protector as the paint will peel off if you don't use it if you need to adjust it. I tried 2 different types of paint (glossy and eggshell) and 4 different types of wall finishes (plywood, stucco, solid wood and drywall). In summary, the best goal in the world. I've been using it actively for about 4 months now and it shows absolutely no signs of wear and tear, all parts are still tight and tight. Love it so just got another one and same quality.
