I bought this cable to be able to connect two computers to one monitor for a daisy chain connection. A normal DP input and another slot required an mDP connection. This cable took care of the USB-C to mDP connection and delivered the full resolution for a 3440 x 1440 widescreen monitor. The cable is braided, which I think better prevents breakage at the ends of the connector. It should NOT be used as a Thunderbolt cable. I bought it strictly as a video cable from USB-C source to mDP destination and it works great for that purpose.
