In automatic mode, when the LED ring is red and the fan speed indicators show the unit is running at high speed, it is actually still running at medium speed level 2. Both of my units work like this and it is not normal. The high speed can be selected manually. Sleep mode works fine. I chose not to return my two because the bug (probably a software issue) works fine for me. I prefer that the fans aren't as loud as they are at high speed. The defect simply means that the fan runs at medium speed for an extended period of time and then switches to low speed when conditions call for it. It fits me. Your mileage may vary. The power consumption is not bad at all. I think I measured around 20 watts at low power with the plasma wave on. Due to the pandemic, I have two large units (one running in automatic mode and the other in manual mode, the second of five speeds and one of them in sleep mode, and the impact on the electricity bill has been minimal. Please be patient as this designed and intended for small and possibly smaller medium sized spaces, if you are going to use it in a moderately sized or large area then a larger machine is required to get the job done properly.
