I bought this product to level my forge because I was not getting the temperatures I needed. I cut out with regular scissors and press them into the forge. My pace has increased significantly. I'm glad I installed this product. It worked so well that when I needed to redo the top of the foundry, I bought more. I put a layer between the masonry and the steel floor. The top no longer overheats.
