Added lights to the decorative shelf above the TV. We needed quite a bit of light because there is no overhead lighting in the room. Our lights weren't enough and it's just so much cooler. We set it to turn on in the evening and before bed. I love that you can choose specific colors for the holidays. I covered it with a green garland for Christmas. Between the holidays we adjusted it so that all the colors are fading. It was easy to install. Aside from the need for a ladder because we installed it 8 feet off the ground, it was very easy. It comes with double-sided tape for good adhesion to rough, textured surfaces. We only attached it in a few places (because it was laying on top of something and not hanging), it didn't even try to pop off. I like that the power cord is very long. We were able to plug it into a floor-level outlet without an extension cord. The power controller has no connectors, so you can connect two different elements to it. Also, my kids think it's pretty cool.
