That's them; a small wire (gauge 20 if you look at the received wire) made from an alligator's skin. Colors help to keep order. I've used them successfully without incident and diagnosed parasitic drains on my truck. Almost an amp went through 2 of these, no problem. I'm splicing a star because I was hoping for a stronger set and nowhere in the Amazon description is the gauge of the wire listed. I trusted the "hype" that they were number one when it came to selling a thing or two, but if I had a remake I'd buy a thicker set, both in wire and clip. This would be great for your standard "learn about electricity" stuff, but for "tougher" jobs you'll probably need something more substantial. I'm assuming this is a one-time use item.
