These black canvases are great fun for my daughter to paint. Working mainly in gouache and acrylic, she enthusiastically uses black canvases to create cool effects with metallic paints and other matte colors. Sometimes it's a little frustrating how hard you have to lay down on the paint to negate the black canvas underneath the paint because if you apply a thin layer or even just one layer you can see the black canvas showing through the color goes. However, it's still a fun challenge. These canvases are beautifully stretched over a wooden frame and oversized for student work. They are also pre-primed so they are ready to use. I would definitely buy them again.
