There seems to be an ongoing problem with these little transformerless 'smart' chargers dying almost regardless of brand. Just check the 1-star ratings for all charger death reports. This device worked great for the first half dozen uses until I tried charging the battery a few weeks ago. The battery was out of the car and in the garage and I checked the charger before I went to bed and it was warm and still charging. In the morning I went to the garage to check the status of the charger and it showed that it was still charging. I went in the house, had breakfast and after a few hours I went out and checked again. The charger indicated that it is charging. I felt the charger and it was cool. Then I checked with a multimeter and the charger didn't beep. Tried to shut down, reboot etc, it was DEAD. I suspect that the power transistor has burned out. Of course it was too late to send it back and the guarantee expired. Charging is useless now, but the metal body is good. i think i will keep it.
