Review on πŸ’‘ E27 Socket Adjustable LED Clamp Mount: Flexible Gooseneck Holder for Versatile Lighting by Ashley Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Produces excellent aquarium light.

It works great in a 40 gallon aquarium as it is nice, big and larger than expected. The various large black adjustment screws give it a chunky feel, giving it a modern industrial feel. This isn't a full gooseneck, as there's a separate, chunky-looking bulb arm (about 6 inches) that holds the bulb socket, as opposed to the socket that attaches directly to the end of the nearly 13-inch long flexible gooseneck, don't count those Height that gives the clamp. This allows you to tilt the light into some pretty creative positions, but ruins the streamlined look somewhat while improving functionality. different. However, stocks were low (under 8 pieces) when I ordered, so I may have sent a rejection from the bottom of the stem. works to hang it at a good height to allow the 40 degree angle beam spread (sold separately) to spread well and hang enough very high to create a subtle ripple effect in the aquarium, very pretty but bright enough for aquatic plants. The neck is strong enough to carry the heavier PaR-38 shape without sagging. I can comfortably place my hands underneath for tank maintenance, and it's easy to twist, turn and adjust when I want other parts of the tank to have extra light. That's why I love this lighting system instead of a permanently installed flat panel LED: the ability to change the position of the light, the beam width and light intensity, raise and lower the light and rotate the position at any time, and easily move it to protect . My eyes at work. The screw clamp is strong and all plastic so it won't rust from splashes from our nearest spare foam filter bubbler. I had to put a small styrofoam block between the clip and the glass because unfortunately my tank isn't rimless (always!), but it works great. The thread is about 3 inches and the screw itself is 4 inches long. It should be screwed into a shelf up to 2 inches thick. Of course, the head does not rotate freely in a circle on the gooseneck, but is secured with a wing nut for safety. At the point where the gooseneck and head meet, there is an adjustment with a black wing, which allows the head to rotate 360 degrees positioned so that the large bottom rim clamp leans your tank against the wall when needed or if you have a thick rim tank and need to insert a block. Most of the bolt is inside the rim clamp. The item will be packaged with the bolt protruding into the tank, so be sure to loosen the wing nut and rotate the head clamp if you prefer to reverse the rim clamp to unscrew the project from the tank. The shell on the gooseneck can be damaged if you forget and try to turn it without loosening it, and the head can fall in the water if you forget to tighten it again! Part of the length of the head's handle is another screw that allows you to adjust the angle of the head so that it can even go at right angles to the gooseneck. Pretty much anywhere you want to direct your light there is some sort of adjustable hardware to suit your needs. The only caveat is that the gooseneck isn't very flexible, making it safer in the aquarium. I've tried other clamps with more flexible necks, but the onion can slowly sink toward the water, and nobody needs fried fish. So the gooseneck doesn't curve sharply enough to allow a 29-gallon tank to center the light on a 12-inch width when the lamp is rear-mounted. This is easily solved by clipping it to one of the short sides and bending the light towards the center, or by moving the clip to the center of the long back and tilting the gooseneck to the desired side. Currently used LED bulbs: Ecosmart daylight, 5000K, moisture-resistant, dimmable 1260 lumens, 14.5W (replaces 120W), PAR 38 from Home Depot in a pack of 2. They're not as bright as we'd like, but they're just what we had on hand until I find something better here on Revain. I have my eye on a grow light that emits white light in this red purple effect: SANSI 30W LED Daylight Bulb, Full Spectrum Ceramic LED Grow Light, 45 LED Chips, E26 Fitting, Home Indoor Gardening, Home Housekeeping, Residential buildings, office plants, wall growing. It's listed as a 30w LED at 1830lm which should allow me to hang it even higher above the tank for a more rippled water effect without taking the light out of the plants. For a few euros more there is an even brighter version. Danger: The only downside is the short length of the power cord, about 4.5 feet, which is too short to form a safe drip loop for our tank. If you tie the cord to the gooseneck to keep it from falling in the water, you only have about 3.5 feet down from the rim clamp, including the connector. I would like the manufacturer to add 3 feet to the length of the cord. Overall I like it so much I plan to order more even though two arrived damaged.
