This necklace came in a box with other items I had ordered and everything smelled of chemicals. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the source of the smell was the black leather strap that the pendant came with. The leather was cheap and covered in some kind of chemical that smelled really bad. I tried washing it off with soap and water, nothing helped. My fingers stank of it too. I ended up throwing away the skin and bought a nice silver chain to wear on the pendant. my daughter loves it Hence 4 instead of 5 stars.
