Actually I bought two of these, different models (one with a hood, one without). The material is very warm and snuggly without being too soft (I mean the plush pillow). In general, the seams are sewn well, I hope they will last at least a couple of years. My daughter had a fleece of a similar material that she wore regularly that retained its color and softness for two years while growing up, but now it's time for the necessary sizing.
