WARNING! CANNOT "FIT" WITHOUT MODIFICATION! I've already started the "reverse" as they just didn't fit the reverse lamp socket on our Chevy Astro Van 98 which uses the 1156 socket for its reverse lamps. However, I was also very confused as to WHY they didn't fit as these bulbs are the correct configuration for a 1156 bulb. (These bulbs fit perfectly in my wife's car, which also uses a 1156 cartridge, so it's a mystery "why" didn't they fit in the cartridge. Our van's outlet, recessed!) Long story short, I had to take my Dremel tool and "expand" the necks of my plastic lamp socket holders to "clear out" the "edge" of these lamps and have them push down far enough into the "guide channel" and then slightly turn clockwise to "lock" them. These are bright and safe at the moment but you should be aware that if they don't 'match' your particular 1156 bulb socket there is in all likelihood a 'gap' problem with the rim of these bulbs. , and you must be prepared to make the necessary changes so that they are inserted at the correct depth and then "locked".
