The Amcrest IP2M-863EW-AI PTZ camera is another home product. This is a Power over Ethernet (POE+) device, which means you only need to connect a CAT5 cable to it for power and data, but that connection must come from a POE+ switch or power injector. "+" means higher power (802.3 atm) of POE standard is required, usually due to additional requirements of motors and IR in the PTZ camera. The included 12 V power supply is used for the initial setup. An incredible 25x optical zoom lets you quickly focus on your subject. Night vision, like all of their current offerings, provides clear images in total darkness. This is a very well built camera, made from quality metal in both the body and bracket. So it weighs 6.6 lbs, so be sure to choose a solid place to mount it. The Amcrest Pro app on your phone allows you to view and set some configuration settings. Many Amcrest cameras use the Chrome plugin but this didn't work. Complete setup is done by logging into the website with the camera's IP address and entering the username and password. Here you can update the firmware, manage user login and create PTZ presets. The camera also supports ONVIF standards, which means that it is compatible with Blue Iris DVR software (as well as other software). Once presets have been created, they can be selected via Amcrest Pro or Blue Iris. The speed and accuracy of the PTZ is incredible. The camera supports micro SD cards up to 256GB for recording. I am using Blue Iris and am not adding an SD card. Maybe this PTZ camera is a bit too big to install in your house and it's perfect for a business solution when you want people to know that there is security surveillance. I highly recommend this product.
