With so many of us living by convenience these days, this is a great way to turn a lamp or ceiling light into a remote controlled light. They're also a great way to create decorative lighting when you need 10W to 60W of light and color equivalents. Installation is very simple, unscrew the old bulb from the socket and screw in this bulb. Because the bulb is on by default when you screw it in, it starts lighting up your space right away. I built this lightbulb into one of those tall floor lamps. I like that the remote allows me to increase or decrease the brightness of the lamp depending on the amount of light I want to project. However, I really wish they could make these bulbs capable of producing 100 watt equivalent light when I'm working. Because of this, I have to use a ceiling light when I have to work in my room. You could easily make this 100 watt lightbulb, then I could use the dimming function to dim it down to the 40 watts or less required for decorative lighting. Another thing is that you are actually only getting 60 watts of full light output from this lamp when using the standard WHITE color. Even at full brightness when I show a nice BLUE color it can be 30W at best! The LED driver had to be designed to compensate for the lower light spectrum of BLUE so that when you turn on the light at full power you get the full 60W it is designed for. I'm generally happy with the light output of the blue to be honest, I just want what I paid for and I don't feel like I have it. Another thing is flowers. With this remote control you can switch between different color types. It also has the ability to turn your room into a disco with lots of colorful animation effects if you want. Color rendering is worse than expected. So far it offers many different colors and they all work. The blue color is perhaps the most interesting. Not only does it emit a beautiful BLUE glow, but it also activates objects in the room like a black light. It's pretty clear to me that a bulb in BLUE mode emits UV light, but unlike a black bulb where you can see purple in the bulb, the human eye can't see the bulb's direct UV light signature. However, as you can see in the image I took with my Canon SX620HS pocket camera in low light mode with the flash off, the camera is capable of capturing ultraviolet light. I would give this lamp a full 5 stars if it reproduced colors more correctly and could get brighter. I love this lamp, it's just not perfect. 4 out of 5 stars!
