So, I bought this grid to increase the directionality of light coming form my 60" octa, a requirement it satisfied handily. A nice (to me) side effect, that I should have thought of was the fact that it also eats up some light. Consequently, I can shoot a little less stopped down, or at more than 1/4 power on my monolight. While I'm not getting the exact results I want, I think that is more due to my lack of familiarity, and the fact that my strip box is MUCH better suited to the results I want to get. I guess I need ANOTHER grid :)It does it's job, it does it well, but it does feel a bit odd, not strictly fabric like, despite being a fabric. Regardless, it does it's job with minimal fuss.
