Review on Columbia Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible Pant for Men by Mike Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lightweight and well made

I LOVE these pants! I bought them for a trip to Southern California and Hawaii with a lot of hiking. I ordered my normal size and they fit better and are more comfortable than I was hoping for. They fit like regular straight pants with a flat front without being too baggy. And the very subtle stretch feature is only noticeable when active, which is what you want. I was 6'4" when I took my pants off and the shorts were just above the knee. I also ordered the non-stretch version of these pants for comparison. Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible Pants, 36x34, Grill Aside from the obvious stretch, make a difference They are as follows: 1) Stretch pants have denim style front pockets compared to chino style pockets 2) Stretch pants do not have back pocket flaps 3) Stretch pants have a smoother fit compared to the very thin ripstop mesh structure used in other pants. You can only see that if you look closely, but I'll mention it anyway. 4) Stretchy pants don't have a belt. I ended up sticking with the stretch pants because the added flexibility when hiking would be appreciated.
