ONE YEAR UPDATE - Warning and Hazard Lights

One year update: So far, after some heavy downpours locally and on long trips out of state, the lights are still functional. I was a little apprehensive about what I fixed as the circuit board was slightly corroded but it still works reliably. We ride every week and the lights have been turned on and off hundreds of times, mostly due to the Florida heat and humidity. If I could get 2-4 years of service from them I would order again without hesitation. Lights like these are an invaluable visibility strategy as you move forward. I've installed two of these amber lights on a couple of bikes (four total) for forward visibility. I was replacing 3 year old yellow Skene Photon Blaster lights that were beginning to fail due to flooding. The Swift 3.0 TIR 3W 3 LEDs are much brighter and work well with the Skene controller causing noticeable flickering. Unfortunately, one of the lanterns was leaking after a single downpour. One of the photos shows the water behind the lens. I removed the lens (not easy) and it was obvious that water was running through the wiring harness (see photo). To be fair, these lights are probably not intended to be mounted on motorcycles BUT their adverts say "fully waterproof". Led-equipped offered to fix the light if it went out. I just didn't want to deal with sending light back to them. I also have three more that may eventually expire. I have removed the rest of the headlights and am going to waterproof with heat shrink tubing and 3M 5200 Marine Sealant. My driver neighbor bought a much cheaper version of these headlights which were advertised as being IP67 rated. We took one apart and found it wasn't. They would drown the first time. I was really hoping that the Swift 3.0 TIR 3W 3 LEDs would work for me right away. Aside from a possible leak in the wiring harness, the build quality is excellent. I will post an update on the effectiveness of my waterproofing.
