that works pretty well. I find that some works

A little awkward to use if your works are not otherwise supported, but generally works quite well. I will note that in some jobs it would be very useful to use two of these items at the same time, e.g. B. Clamping drawer sides over 4 inches. when gluing.

Doesn't exactly stick.

The corners are square and match the corners of the box perfectly. But when you tighten that yoke, the corners of the yoke warp and things don't line up straight. A friend and I were trying to clamp a 6x6x4 beveled box out of 1/2" spruce. We tried many times but couldn't get the clamp tight and square at the same time. The tape trick is more reliable and easier. This clip can use thicker material will work, but for things like jewelry boxes, thick material is not an option.

Unsuitable for picture frames and other defects

If you are making a picture frame, you are probably using material that is 3/4 inch thick or less. At this thickness, the clamps will bounce off the workpiece when tightened. Attempting to center the workpiece on the clamps also fails and is difficult to accomplish. To get them to work I put a piece of plywood over 4 brackets and pressed down; However, you lose visibility and cannot fix if the seams are misaligned. Another design flaw that affects every blank, not just the picture frame, is…

What an easy way to connect glued corners

Glued corners can be connected so easily! I had to learn how to use it before using it! I know this might not make sense, but I had to put in a little effort to get the clamp to work perfectly. Before adding glue to my 45* corners, I reassembled the frame the way I wanted it and then installed the glued corners where I wanted. I found that the outside corners needed to be raised about 0.5" to keep the clip corners from slipping off the wood as I tightened the strap. Once I figured out this…

  • The list will be long.

I wish I could write a good review about it. Bought several. One of the straps snapped. On the other hand, the mechanism got stuck and I couldn't unwind the strap. But the worst part was discovering (to my dismay) that the punch that forms the metal base for this thing left protruding edges, and after I tied my bottom it completely destroyed the belt. the board it was attached to - scratches it through. I have four of these and they are all the same. material defect. I thought you could feel…

Simple, cheap and works!

I started making my own picture frames and tried some hard corner clamps but found they didn't always have enough pressure for a strong adhesive bond. I tried this little ribbon clip and it was just what I needed. I was so impressed that I bought a second one to be able to work with more than one frame at a time. One reviewer complained that it didn't give 100% accurate viewing angles. This is because there are no hard corners to work with as it is a flexible band/compression clamp. To solve…

Wow - easy to use and very effective

The last time I did any serious woodwork (making a new case for my wife's inherited silver) to hold the corners while the glue set was I only have my set of old iron clips that I inherited from my father-in-law. Heavy, wobbly, prone to scratching, and generally awkward to use. The braces he gave me weren't much better. Recently I was asked to build a toy box and I went to the workshop and looked at these brackets for a long and painful time. Then I went back in and launched amazom.com to see…

Better, cheaper option.

Received it today and I've only used it once but so far I'm happy. I have a home business where I need belt clips to glue the frames together. I have 3 Besseys but need a few more that will turn into over a hundred bucks in no time. I wanted to see if this would be a viable option. While I'm thinking that I will test diligently this weekend. If all goes well I'll be ordering a few more in a few days. UPDATE: 2019-02-22: Used on 3 frames so far. 100% happy with it. I'll order two more clamps…

This product breaks very easily

This item became unusable almost immediately after unpacking. For some completely insane reason, one end of the strap has no thickness at the end to prevent it from coming out of the device. The strap CANNOT be reinserted into the device, rendering it unusable and requiring it to be returned. Now I've read that others have had this problem, so my question is why is Revain still selling this? Manufacturers should be ashamed to sell this device when the slightest modification is enough to prevent
