They still do!

I had one of these years ago and sold it. I went back to woodworking and tried to find it at my local hardware store. They just had a crappy nylon and plastic version. I thought they stopped making all metal types. I'm glad I found this at Revain. The plastic ones don't work either. This is a must have for any workshop.

  • Great design

Great band clamp for hand tools

I mainly use this for woodworking. However, a tire came off my zero turn mower. I spent an hour trying to get the hoop back on board with a rope. Then I remembered I had it. Reinstall the tire after about 5 seconds. Now I don't recommend this to put tires back on rims, but it worked. It works very well as a clamp for a wooden strap because it can really be tightened.

  • Best in its niche

  • Almost never

More expensive because better product

Great tape clip. This brand is more expensive than some of the others shown but well worth it. The big difference between this and cheaper models is that it uses a metal strap instead of a fabric strap. The strap is similar to standard pallet strapping and does not bend. Another big difference is the molded metal corners with pivoting vinyl spacers that grip almost any shape without scratching it. This clamp should last a lifetime.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Useless features

Works, but very cumbersome.

The clip is good for frames but the reel for storing metal strip stock is terrible. As you rewind the tape, the handle rotates rapidly to release the tension accumulated in the loops. Better keep your fingers out of the way. The group essentially becomes a spring that fills the gap. If the reel was attached to the body of the clip and had auto-rewind like a tape measure, it would be much better. Good enough to keep, but won't buy again.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great for assembling picture frames

I've recently used this to put together some really expensive decorative frames for some of my paintings. It was a lifesaver and very easy to use. All frames turned out great. Just a tip - I put some masking tape on the surface of the red pieces in each corner to give my frames some padding. When I first used it I didn't realize how much force this thing could exert and I ended up with very small dents on the edges of my frame. But my fault, not the machines.

  • Easy install
Cons
  • Little things

Facilitates frame making Good for corner clamps

Frame making was a pleasure for me and used to be a great agony for me. What I don't like is the spring-loaded metal strip holder. The thing hits me in the arm and is difficult to use anywhere. Second, it takes some effort to put it on the frame. It's not that easy because you're constantly adapting. All in all, I can create something in a short amount of time, get everything in order, and make a really polished product. Anything I don't like about it pales in comparison to the value it offers.

Pros
  • Sample for one year
Cons

Trimming Band Vise in Hand Tools

After looking at other reviews I figured this was my clamp. Not. but if so, then they have abused the device. For example if you are using this on an overlay to glue the 45's together you will need a thick square piece on the outside. If you're trying to frame a thinner, rounded part on the outside, this device won't work for you, but it's not the device's fault if you abuse it. (I think you can probably save 45 seconds with the clip lock to help.) Anyway, another good thing about these clips…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long shipping

Worth tightening beveled corners

The Merle clamp handles large frames with ease. It has enough strength to have served well even stubborn, slightly deformed frame members. The small angled plastic feet allow the power to be distributed to the sides - it can be handy to give one angled side a little more power than the other. I used it to make some deeply trimmed window frames. Beveled corners with glued biscuit joints gave the impression that the architraves were carved from a single piece of wood. It makes sense to have one…

Pros
  • Decent performance

Dry fit and durability are good

This is a reliable tool that is worth using in production. Advantages are very strong clamping pressure, even clamping pressure, clamps from all sides simultaneously (>4 if you buy additional corners), plastic corner inserts for softer materials or to level out uneven corners, small to large clamping capacity, affordable replacement parts when needed and robust construction . The price is quite reasonable for a device of this quality and features. Some complain about the awkwardness of using

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
