My 85 pound dog loves her bed. This is our second purchase of this bed. The first one lasted several years -- in the end what destroyed it was cat urine. The cover, while liquid "resistant," is far from liquid "proof." The cat urine penetrated down through the mattress itself and we had to throw it away. However, the covers are washable, soft and sturdy. I have actually purchased additional waterproof covers to put over the mattress and the cover it comes with as I still have the cat. My dog deserved her bed back, but I needed to protect the purchase. I wish I had a video of when my dog found her replacement bed -- she was so excited. She doesn't mind the extra protective layers. Worth the purchase.
