This tripod is slim, strong and well made. The height suits me (I'm 5ft 11in). What you can't do is decrease the "footprint" of the tripod since the strut has only one position in the middle. However, this shouldn't be a problem as buying this tripod means you need a strong and stable mount for your camera. What you do NOT get when you put your feet on a tripod. very smooth The "tensioners" on the legs have a "stop" that prevents you from twisting them too much. I think people who break parts on this tripod just handle it too much as everything seems very solid and reliable. I definitely recommend this tripod. d goods at a good price.
