Digitizer replaced last week, works well. The biggest fear was the replacement process. So here it is: For the process, I watched some YouTube videos for step-by-step instructions. I disassembled the tablet too much according to the instructions. It eventually turned out that all I had to do was 1) open the back panel to disconnect the battery (for security reasons) and digitizer cable, 2) break the plastic dots that attach the front cover to the innards, 3) the remove the front cover and separate the cracked digitizer from it (I think this also required removing the power plug from the cover) 4) glue the new digitizer (it comes with glue on it :D), 5) release the guts again into the cover, 6) attach the digitizer and battery cables, 7) turn it on and make sure it works, 8) turn off the device and replace the back cover. In theory, the digitizer can be detached from the front. It's just glued on. BUT I wouldn't do that. Mine was cracked, and when the display was a few feet away from me when I ripped off the digitizer, small bits of plastic dust landed on the display. I would think trying to do this with a digitizer on the display is too likely to damage the display. If I ever have to do it again I will go to another room to remove the rift. As for the function of the new digitizer: good. First I noticed that he was becoming less sensitive. I felt that the lower left corner had to be pressed well to answer. My daughter initially had a similar sense of responsiveness. However, after a week of use, she says there are no problems. It can only be the difference between the two, which you quickly get used to. Or, to be honest, it could be because the tablet turned on for the first time in a month and was lagging behind due to all the app updates.
