I bought a new Polaris Outlaw 50 for my 5 year old daughter. Within minutes her pinky was so swollen and weak that she could no longer control the throttle. We waited a few days and tried again. The same thing. She could only drive a few minutes. I thought I had to sell a brand new ATV with an engine in just 10 minutes. I researched a few options and reluctantly settled on this one (ties? Really? I wasn't expecting much. I figured it was going to be a crappy setup for sure). I must say - in one go - I was pleasantly surprised. Not just because the zip tie thing is so tight, but also because my daughter can finally drive. She can now use her palm and thumb area more than just her thumb. Now she loves to ride horses. The throttle is still on the lowest setting, but she can ride as long as she wants and her thumb doesn't hurt. This little thing I thought I'd throw in the trash turned out to be a lifesaver for us. If you have this problem with your child, I strongly recommend you try this.
