The internal threads in the set screw (where the pilot and top of the rivet screw screw in) are drilled and cut at an angle/not set coaxial with the external threads of the studs. This causes a lot of runout and misalignment, which causes problems both when the chain breaks and when the connector pin is riveted. The main reason is poor handling by Pit Posse or wherever they subcontract it. The attached images show how a machining error causes misalignment. I would replace it, but this is a major manufacturing and quality control defect that is repeated across all production batches. I choose return and bought DID KM500R. Japanese, will be perfect.
