I've heard and seen videos of thieves seeing the camera and taking it, which is fine when the homeowner pays a monthly subscription for 24/7 cloud uploads , but it is very sad . if the camera recorded on a MicroSD card (because this card is recorded together with the pictures of the robbers). For homeowners with security cameras recording on a central DVR, this DVR can be detected and taken along with intrusion footage as well. Because of this, I needed a fallback/failsafe solution, an inconspicuous item that looks too cheap to steal that could act as a camera and source of footage that nobody would bother with. I tried one of these watch cams about a year ago and was very disappointed. This hour the camera pops out of the water, I was against it and wanted to hate it, but I couldn't. Pros: - Adjustable lens angle - An unobtrusive white dial with no marking is in charge of lens adjustment. - Wide second hand (not tick, tick, tick) - The clock works independently of the camera and only requires one AA battery. All of the camera elements are hidden behind a plastic cover, so when you take the clock off the wall you'll see the standard black square for all battery-powered wall clocks with a black dial to set the time. - Blue Iris compatible - In router mode this camera works perfectly with Blue Iris when connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network (a big plus for me as all my cameras are connected to my Blue Iris server software for a central display/recording/management). You also have the option of using Ad Hoc mode, in which the camera creates its own Wi-Fi network that you connect to when you want to watch live video or access footage wirelessly. - The camera lens is very well hidden, last time I tried one of these the camera hole was round and protruded a bit from the number (which I think was zero) which made it uneven and noticeable when you look at this camera The hole is rectangular and does not protrude further than the numbering (in this case 1 digit in 10). My installation is constantly powered. I didn't want to constantly charge it and knew that a dangling power cord would draw attention to the camera, so I plugged it into/behind the wall. To do this, I installed the camera over the socket, took out the socket and made a small hole behind the clock. I then routed the microUSB cable into the clock through a small hole behind the wall.
