Review on JBL Flip Bluetooth Connection Black by Kevin Woods

I was looking for a portable speaker to connect to my Mac devices (MBP and iPhone 5S). I had to send the first one back because the bluetooth didn't work, but the one that arrived yesterday (from a different manufacturer) paired with my iOS device with no problems. Enough sound to fill multiple rooms (open floor plan). Well to be honest it took me several attempts to connect the speaker to my MBP. I had to read troubleshooting tips on multiple pages. I think the problem lies in the coupling directions. As a teacher, I know that to be effective, instructions need to be clear. The visual instructions that came with the device only show pairing with a phone. It also says to "press and hold" the power/bluetooth button for three seconds, after which the button should flash blue/red. Well, for me it only flashed blue after three, four, five seconds of being pressed. Since the device paired with my iOS device so quickly (it never blinked blue/red btw) I was disappointed that it didn't pair with my MBP. But after reading another frustrated user's blog post, he mentioned that he had to hold down the power/bluetooth button until it was recognized by his MBP. Well, when I tried, lo and behold, I saw blue and red flashing lights. I held this button down for almost another 10 seconds before it started flashing blue/red, but another ten seconds before it was recognized by my MBP. Now I listen to Pandora via Bluetooth on my JBL and it sounds great! The speaker itself is great. Small, light... and amazing sound. I think this will work well in my class too. How to pair? Not as much. I understand that it's difficult to write instructions for different devices, but why not link to a website where they can leave specific instructions for specific devices and then update them as needed.
