Review on Encased OtterBox Defender Compatible Otterbox by Terry Keown

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Doesn't feel very safe.

My iPhone 7 plus in the Otterbox Defender fits perfectly in the mount as expected. So far the mount has been securely attached to my windshield and it takes some effort to remove from the windshield so I'm confident it will hold up. I'm not sure if my phone will stay in the holder due to the clip on the bottom of the holder. I don't know if mine is broken or not, but the clip doesn't really spring tight enough to lock my phone. It's fairly loose, and to test, I slapped the phone lightly from the back with the clip down and it popped out of the mount slightly. I'm not sure if my phone won't fly out during a bumpy ride or hitting a pothole. So far, my cell phone hasn't fallen out of the holder while driving normally. I hold my phone horizontally, which makes me feel more secure with the recessed mount. I can still push behind my phone and it pops out of the holder. If my bracket isn't defective, this spring mechanism should be made firmer or somehow snapped in more, to make the lip longer, for example. Also, it attaches to the windshield and a longer arm would have been helpful to be able to reach the phone better and even protect it from direct sunlight as much as possible. Not only because of the heat that can build up in the windshield area, but also to reduce glare when on the phone.
