Installation couldn't be simpler than just connecting to the ODB port. I watched on youtube how to hide the cable for my car and it looks like a pro installed it :-). Anyway, I like the ability to turn the power on and off with the on/off switch on the plug. Although it says it will stop drawing power when the battery dies, I turn it off when I park it in my garage as an extra precaution. I would recommend this adapter even if your dash cam doesn't have a "parking mode" feature, simply because you can just plug it in without cutting any wires or messing around with backup adapters.
