Feels stupid not to buy something like this sooner. This thing makes desoldering jobs a breeze! I LOVE this tool! Bought because I had a very rare expensive damaged video game. I was able to solder both the EPROM onto the damaged game and onto a cheaper donor game to use the donor board. It literally took 2 minutes to desolder all the contacts on all four microcircuits. It would take me a good half day to persuade them all with a wick and lightbulb or a spring-loaded suction cup. I literally threw out my lightbulb and sprung it, but this was my first run with this one. This makes changing caps and through-wires quick and easy. I've also desoldered RF boards from older gaming systems in a reasonable amount of time. They usually hurt because of the age of the solder and how much they got stuck in those joints. It just sucks everything out after you sweat. I cannot recommend any of them enough. The price kept me from buying it for a long time, but I forgot about the cost almost immediately after the first two uses.
