Review on Enhanced Banjo Polypropylene Bulkhead Fitting: Female - Superior Performance and Reliability by Herthoel Yanda

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good fit for Penetration Tanks and Water Tanks

I used this to hook up the plumbing to refill the fountain waterfall tank. Easy to use and seals the hole in the plastic tank well. Use it to mark the size of the hole in the tank, cut the hole, screw the fitting together on both sides, and the rubber gasket will seal the fitting to prevent the hose from leaking. It has 1/2" female threads on both sides of the fitting. I connected the 1/2" water line to a male compression fitting that screws onto the outside of this fitting after installation to the tank, and then a small float valve directly Screws into the fitting to automatically fill the tank when water falls. I drilled a hole in the fitting at the top of the tank to allow the valve to fill the tank to the correct level. I also got a float valve from Revain for about $7-8. Just do a search to pull it out. If you have a large keg, water tank, rain barrel or similar water tank that requires a good 1/2 inch watertight tank penetration with pipe threads already installed. This is a very inexpensive solution. Facilitates connection to pumps, valves and water pipes. Note that it works best on flat surfaces of square tanks or surfaces with a lot of curvature. I'm not sure if it seals the bend of the 5 gallon bucket and the plastic of the fitting is very flat when dented. on a rubber pad. You have to try it out to see if it works on a bucket. Very good solution for hydroponic systems, water storage and water features.
