Review on πŸ” BROAN NuTone BWP2306SS: Stylish 30-Inch Stainless Steel Wall-Mount Range Hood with LED Lights by Huntsville Rawson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I noticed a few things.

36 inch. Very well packaged, no damage. Very nice stainless steel look. Installed quickly with no problems. I installed the hood 28 inches above the stove. I like the touch buttons as there are no fat collection slots. The keys are illuminated with a stylish blue neon ring around the keys. I also like the 5 minute delay feature to turn off the fan and I like that there is no LCD to make the device more noticeable and prone to crashes. I like the very clean design. I unscientifically tested sound levels in decibels using an Android phone app; I held the phone at head level, where I had to stand to cook. The ambient temperature in my kitchen at that time was 50 dB. Fan on low: 54db, very quiet and does a pretty good job of catching steam from eggs simmering in a pot on the front burner. Fan on Medium: 74dB, a noticeable jump in dB, but I found this speed necessary to remove the smoke and smell of a hamburger being cooked in a pan on the front burner. This noise level is too high for a comfortable conversation. High: 84dB, that's too loud to sustain for long periods of time and can even loosen fillings in your teeth (hey, maybe that can happen). I doubt I'll be using it at altitude very often. A few things I remember: 1: I'm glad there is no nameplate on the hood. This makes the stainless steel easier to clean and the look is very clean. I think this fan is a very good price and I can imagine Broan left the nameplate off to save a few cents. 2. The light has two modes: on and off. They are bright with good light levels so you can see what you are cooking. But I'm surprised there isn't a third option, let's call it "Night Light Mode". My guess is that because of the price, Broan decided not to buy the more expensive dimmable LED modules and put in a dimmable power supply. 3: Each time you press a button, there will be a beep, just like in a microwave oven. I could do without it as the buttons light up to let you know what's going on. Might be good for blind people but for me they could save a few more pennies by removing the horn module. I would still be just as happy with this block. 4. The stainless steel of this cap has strong magnetic properties. If you like, you can attach an old-fashioned paper recipe to the hood with a fridge magnet. Or a magnetic hook to hold the potholder. yourself with it; Don't invite the fire chief to dinner.
