Bought this laptop for my wife. So far I'm very impressed. Like others, all you have to do is go through the laptop's setup, specifically activating Windows and forgoing S mode (assuming that's what you want). First of all, don't worry about finding your Windows product key. You won't find it. Dell has the Windows key built into the system. It will be activated automatically. in summary. Before this happens, you need to update Windows again. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security. Select the "Check for updates" option as you install each one. Note that some updates are dependent on the availability of other updates. Then restart update. Wash, rinse and repeat until Windows says you're up to date. NOW select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation. You will most likely see an error stating that Windows could not be activated. In this case, select "Troubleshooting". This allows you to access your built-in product key, activate Windows and you're live. If you're comfortable with Windows 10 S now, you're done. If you prefer Windows 10 Home over 10 S, there should now be an option on the activation screen to "switch from S mode to 10 Home". Selecting this will open your Microsoft Store app's Disable S Mode page, but with a minor update. (Note that if you searched "turn off S mode" in the Microsoft Store prior to activating Windows, you'll find that a Microsoft Store update is required to exit S mode. You can use the Refresh Store app 50 times without changes (Refresh can only be done after Windows is activated.) The "Turn off" page now has a "Get" button, which means "Give me a chance to sign out of S". Select "Get," tell the app that you're ok with this "No Refund" change, and you'll be permanently switched to Windows 10 Home. You now have a great laptop with Windows 10 Home activated. Enjoy!
