I got them at 6X for my 7 year old. She usually wears a size 6 and has room to grow, especially in length. I can fold the waistband over them to make them more form fitting, although they fit just fine without it. She is slim - about 45 inches tall and 43 pounds. She really likes these things. We took her on a camping trip this fall and she slept in it and wore it to camp all week. They were comfortable and warm. On weekends, she likes to wear them to play and chill at home. The pink color is a little noticeable. We don't have many things that it doesn't conflict with. Best with black or white. I wish they were better in a greater variety. neutral or muted colors.
