Excellent filament: my feedback

I've used Prusament, Polymaker, Protopasta and this, and this wins hands down. The print quality is insane, the layer lines are barely visible and the color is fantastic. Also one of the few filaments thats comes out flat and not shiny which is a major plus if you like to paint/prime your models. Will buy more colors to test and update if anything is different but for now this is the best PLA I've used.

Pros
  • Came sealed prints great.
Cons
  • The spool size may not fit certain 3D printers

I'm a long time Hatchbox customer and I have always loved their stuff. I needed some Blue PLA for a project and they were out of the normal stuff, so I picked this up. First impressions were good- It was nicely wound, good color, same spool as their other stuff. Great!Checked the diameter out, and consistently 1.73mm+/- 0.02mm for as far as I cared to measure- Also wonderful.I then went to print it using my usual settings, and that's when things went to s***. The tops of flat objects look…

Pros
  • Fantastic
Cons
  • It's not recommended for printing items that will be exposed to high temperatures

Great filament on my review.

I always buy Hatchbox plastic. It is within the stated tolerances and prints perfectly. Never have I had a problem with air bubbles or moisture. Runs in my MendeMax 1.5 perfectly. I just wish they would always use the same size spools. Oh well, I buy Hatchbox for the quality of the filament, not the spools.

Pros
  • ‎HATCHBOX
Cons
  • It may not hold up as well to wear and tear as other options

Poor Quality PPLA for my opinion

What a disappointment, having a hard time making it stick to the bed, glass or pei sheet. All other brands I have tried of pla+ or ppla I have no issues. not sure if it's just this color or all the hatchbox ppla.

Pros
  • Great consistent product
Cons
  • The silver finish may not be suitable for all prints

Very nice color and quality

I ran a series of tests to lern best temperature, speeds, etc. It prints with great detail from 190° to 240°!Semi matte finish is very atractive. No adhesion problems. Very easy to work with.

Pros
  • it's white til you burn it.
Cons
  • The filament may produce more waste material than other options

Stick with regular PLA

We've used several brands, including the Hatchbox 3D PLA, and never had any problems with them. However this PPLA spool had problems right from the start, with cracks throughout the entire spool. We did a small test print, and those cracks showed very clearly in the print as well. We had to return it, and will be sticking with the regular Hatchbox 3D PLA from now on.

Pros
  • excellent
Cons
  • The filament may require more frequent changes during long prints

Great filament! - my new review

This was a good upgrade from the regular Hatchbox PLA. It printed smoother, and seem to work better in my Flsahforge Adverturer 3 printer. I also like the matte finish, and its a great shade of silver.

Pros
  • ‎2.2 pounds
Cons
  • The silver finish may not be suitable for items that will be exposed to chemicals

Works just as well as regular Hatchbox PLA

I've tried a variety of filaments, and been happiest with Hatchbox the most. This is my first time trying Performance PLA. It doesn't see to behave any differently than the non-Performance version. I'll probably go back to the regular Hatchbox PLA unless there's only a color I want available in Performance PLA

Pros
  • HATCHBOX Silver Performance PLA 3D Printer Filament produces reliable and consistent printing results every time
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for printing items that need to be food safe

I purchased this because I've used Hatchbox's regular PLA before (White, Black, Red and Blue) and really liked it. This "Performance" PLA is NOT the same as their regular product. This filament is significantly softer and extrudes quite differently. It's taken a lot of tweaking to get it to print consistently. My Ender 3 w/ Gulf-Coast end upgrade jammed and started coiling raw filament out the side of the extruder motor (between the bowden tube and the gear) several times while figuring it out…

Pros
  • Great filament great price
Cons
  • It may require additional finishing work after printing to remove any imperfections

Know before you buy

The good: this is actually a very nice product, prints very well (see cons below) and the prints look stellar when they are done. I bought mine by accident (was looking for green Hatchbox pla and didn't notice the extra "P" in front of the name). One thing to note, Hatchbox green PPLA is a significantly darker shade than standard Hatchbox green PLA. I decided to keep it anyway, because the standard stuff is currently out of stock. In any case, very nice stuff. Also note that, at least for the…

Cons
  • The silver finish may not be as vibrant as hoped

Best PLA I've Used

Hatchbox really takes the cake with this filament. I'll be very likely to use PPLA from Hatchbox in some of my more serious projects. It prints like a dream, never clogs, and is pretty strong.

Pros
  • Affordable price: HATCHBOX Silver Performance PLA 3D Printer Filament is priced affordably, making it accessible to a wide range of users
Cons
  • It may not be the best option for printing very thin or delicate items

good stuff - my new review

i like this ppla you dont need as much heat for it to stick to the bed it says you dont need any but with my glass bed it needs to be at 50C but a lot stronger then just pla A+ all i use is HATCHBOX

Pros
  • ‎3D PPLA-1KG1.75-SLV
Cons
  • It may not work as well with certain types of infill patterns

Good stuff on my review.

The 4 stars should be 4.5 found it to be a little more stringy than the regular PLA, but that could be my settings and my printer and not a reflection of the quality of the product. Also the color was more pink than purple.

Pros
  • Wide range of applications: This filament can be used for various 3D printing applications, including toys, home decor items, and even functional parts
Cons
  • It may not work well with certain types of support structures

Their original PLA/ABS is great. What happened?

Not that great. I'm guessing it was supposed to compete with Colorfabb's NGen or _XT filament?Retraction was set to .5, and hotend/bed temps were 220/70 in order to get nice prints. Not worth the $10 more.

Pros
  • Superior printing quality: This filament produces prints with superior quality and smooth finish due to its consistent diameter and flow rate
Cons
  • It may be more prone to jamming the 3D printer feeder mechanism

generally satisfied with the performance of this color

Using a Robo 3D R1 Plus printer, generally satisfied with the performance of this color. Color is roughly #ff3333 after print (will update later with closest RGB color). Flows well at recommended temp with no dimensional issues (I had a clogged nozzle, but unsure if this was due to this filament or others I've been using).

Pros
  • Works great with the ENDER 5 Plus
Cons
  • The filament may be prone to breakage if not stored correctly

Best 3D filament ever

Hatchbox PPLA is by far the best PLA + on the market. I use an Ender 3, and the print quality with PPLA is unmatched.its hard to even see the print lines using this versus regular PLA.

Pros
  • Recommended Extrusion/Nozzle Temperature 180°C - 220°C (356°F - 428°F)
Cons
  • The filament may produce more stringing when printing at higher speeds

Revainrating 5 out of 5

but it does seem like the prints come out a "tad " nicer

Not sure if its mental, but it does seem like the prints come out a "tad" nicer. Also note that the color/shade of green is different than the regular 0.05 tolerance shade of green offered by hatchbox. The diameter of the hole is also the regular small one, not the 54mm diamater one that i've been getting periodically

Pros
  • Spool Diameter: 8" - Spool Width: 2.50" - Spool Hub Hole Diameter: 1.25"
Cons
  • It may not work well with certain types of bed adhesion techniques

All around Good in my review

I have used several brands of PLA and PETG filaments in printing RC airplanes. Hatchbox has given me the best prints of any brand. True, it is more expensive, but in my opinion it is well worth it.

Pros
  • Easy to print with
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for printing items that need to be water resistant

Revainrating 2 out of 5

VERY Difficult to Print

The filament is very difficult to stick on my glass bed. Requires very high temperature bed to and a brim. Not for beginners

Pros
  • Hatchbox has been the best filament I have come across. I have tried many brands.
Cons
  • It's best used with a heated build plate, which not all 3D printers have

Revainrating 4 out of 5

May Need to Adjust Settings

Great product, but didn't print the same as other Hatchbox filaments. I had to reduce my extrusion multiplier from 95% to 90% to get the same results as other colors. Maybe because this is Performance PLA? Material tended to shrink in length and expand in diameter after extruded. Just required dialing in the right parameters to produce good prints.

Pros
  • Performance PLA (Polylactic Acid) 3D Printer Filament Vacuumed Sealed With Desiccant
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for printing items that require a lot of flexibility
