Another junk upgrade that's not worth the money

I'm getting kind of tired of buying all these poorly designed upgrades that on the surface seem like a good idea but once you get them you realize that they are very poorly engineered. The main problem with this belt tensioner is that it has less than half the travel adjustment of the stock tensioner.I believe I measured close to 20 mm of travel adjustment on the stock tensioner while this new and improved upgraded tensioner barely has 7 millimeters of adjustment travel. You would literally have…

Pros
  • Installs easily and fits great.
Cons
  • The tensioner may interfere with other printer components or wiring

Worked Voxelab Aquila

Included an image of the part I replaced.Yes, I scorched my old one. Had the printer close to a lamp… Arm found the bulb… And, we melted the plastic part came with the printer. Replaced with this "metal hack” and it worked just fine. Leave the short arm on the one side… Use the screws/nuts to attach to the T rail. Looks far better than what the printer came with and is likely a sturdier build. If it’s not, I’ll just drill out the second hole and add the original screw back into the mix.

Pros
  • Great addition my to 3D printer
Cons
  • The upgrade may not be compatible with certain printer modifications

Great X/Y axis tensioner for Creality Ender 5

The stock tensioner solution for the Creality Ender 5 works but is annoying and imprecise. I tried several brands I saw suggested on forum and was not happy with how small the idler were. I finally tried the Befenbay ones. While the idler is smaller than the stock it works rather well. My only complaints are that I wish the knob was larger for easier turning and I had to slightly tilt the bracket at and upward angle so that the belt was centered better for my Y axis belts.

Pros
  • Fits ... works
Cons
  • It may require technical expertise to install

Mind the gap, lol. good for me

It is a solid well built set of tensioners, but the y axis tensioner (4040) tensioner has very little adjustment. Unlike the (2020) tensioner on X axis. It also leaves a gap between on the front of the printer that just looked ugly. Of course if you can be creative then it isn't as big a deal, but it was still there and i had to be the one to make it to my liking or send it back and put the stock tensioners back on or find another set from a different maker. I did come up with a clean solution…

Pros
  • These fit and work perfectly.
Cons
  • It could add unnecessary weight to the printer, affecting its overall performance

These are nice. - my new review

I really like these. I don't understand in all cases why people took issue with these upgrades. I found them easy to install and instantly an improvement over the belt gears that Ender 3 came with. I am worried that the tighteners will come lose over time, but, as of yet, they are holding tight. Good upgrade for a good price. Happy Printing.

Pros
  • Used it on a ender 3 pro and works great.Comes with extra parts if you need it.
Cons
  • The product may not be durable enough to withstand long-term use

This should come standard on the Ender3

These products should be on the stock Ender3 printer, as they solve alignment issues that the X and Y belts have. Not only does the smaller diameter toothed pully make the axes more accurate, but they keep the belts centered and stop them from rubbing on the frame extrusions. The normal Ender3 config uses the X2020+Y4020 configuration.Installation on the Y axis would typically require you to remove the bed, but I was able to disassemble this new part in order to get the belt in it without taking

Pros
  • Material
Cons
  • It may be difficult to find replacement parts if needed

Has potential: my feedback

3 stars. The quality is good and its made fairly well. The problem is the frame bracket itself is not exactly set to fit the 40mm rail. It's just slightly too small and will pinch together when you fully tighten the T slot screw. It ends up pinching the pulley assembly preventing it from being adjusted as needed. I had to preset the pulley tension before I could fully tighten the T-slot screws. I recommend the seller adding some washers or shims to be used to prevent from fully closing. Or…

Pros
  • Made well, does it's job
Cons
  • It could potentially damage the printer if not installed correctly

Works great on Ender 5

Got the 2020-1s for the Ender 5. Works for both X and Y axis. Obviously you'll need 3 if you do both. High quality and fits in a few minutes, one of the better upgrades for my Ender. Can finally get the belt tension right without a struggle. Edit: Important, make sure you upgrade your belts, the Creality belts are garbage and if you actually put them at the right tension your print quality will definitely degrade. It took me a week of trial and error to finally figure out I was having issues…

Pros
  • Install
Cons
  • The tensioner may add unwanted noise during printing

Works on Ender 3 but you loose Y axis space

I bought this one and the installation was pretty easy even without instructions. Considering that it is the Y belt it is a lot easier to remove the bed to get the belt around the pulley properly rather than finagle with long needle nose pliers to get it into the slot in the bed.The tension is great, put enough tension on it to get it taunt, powered it up and everything seemed fine until after every print the Y carriage would literally bump n grind. It was hitting the both ends as well as…

Pros
  • Fits SOVOL 3D PRINTER SV-01
Cons
  • The product may be overpriced for what it does

The best X axis tensioner, bar none

I've tried them all, and this one is the best on the market. Large pulley, washer supported bearing, modular, correct sizing, you name it. The one and only caveat is the actual tensioning screw, wish it had a higher pitch (for our metric friends, it means shorter pitch). But they all like that, so no stars lost :)Tip: before installing, degrease the tensioning screw and put 1-2 drops of blue Loctite on its threads. This will prevent it from working itself loose over time.

Pros
  • Reduces wear and tear on your printer
Cons
  • The product may not be compatible with third-party or non-Creality printers

Poor fit, bad bearings.

The single sided X-axis didn’t fit at all. It’s a good idea, poorly engineered at least in relation to my CR-10V2. The distance from the bearing to the mount holes is too long. Much longer than the stock version and the adjustment isn’t long enough to allow you to move the mount out of the way. The mount hits the carriage long before the carriage reaches the end of the bed. You could reset your bed size in firmware and lose the volume but that’s just silly. No way to lock the adjustment…

Pros
  • Reduces the chance of nozzle clogs
Cons
  • The tensioner may cause additional wear and tear on the motor drivers

A little fiddley to start but worth it.

For the most part they work as expected. I installed them on my ender 3 to make the belts more tight simlar to the 3 v2.However their was 2 little washers that go on either side of the rollers, when I was installing the belt they fell out. But it doesn't seem to affect the operation to much.So over all I am happy with them it should be a quality of life upgrade.

Pros
  • Helps prevent stringing and oozing
Cons
  • The upgrade may not work as well on printers used for industrial applications

Fits and works on Ender 3 Pro

A must-have if you mod your Ender, especially the extruder carriage. Many of the backplates are off size, and without this little item, you will ruin into tension issues. Fits great and the one comes with removable sides for different setups.

Pros
  • Promotes smoother and quieter operation
Cons
  • The upgrade may not be necessary for high-end printers

Poorly engineered, will damage the wheels on Y-gantry

The wheels of the Y-Axis gantry hit on this tensioner even when it is moved as far as possible out on the 40/20 rail. The tensioner may cause the x-axis belt to stretch over time.

Pros
  • Extends nozzle life
Cons
  • The tensioner may cause the x-axis belt to stretch over time

I'd gone from original, to the ones you've seen that you 3D print. This one blows them out of the water. The sturdiness of, particularly the x carriage version allows it to sit flush to tighten, with a huge amount of range to tension. Considerably more than you'll need.Blends right in with the rest of the printer, and takes away the continuous rubbing sound the belt makes on the edge of the original smooth bearing. I was so worried these would be garbage. They are excellent. Both the X and Y…

Pros
  • Provides better support for complex prints
Cons
  • The upgrade may not be necessary for printers used for hobby purposes

Great upgrade for my opinion

Bought the X2020+Y4020 version for my Ender 3. Easy to install and to align with the frame. The only reproach is about the length of the pulley screws that are too short, so the safety of the nut is useless. I used the old original screw for the Y axis and the X axis screw is tightened but not secured. The screws must have at least 5 mm more length to fit properly. Overall, i am very pleased with te purchase.

Pros
  • Enhances control over filament
Cons
  • The product may require frequent maintenance to ensure proper functioning

This thing is well built

this is built sturdy with a smooth rotation on the bearing but unfortunately would not fit my application. Not the parts fault so 5 stars

Pros
  • Easy to install, keeps belts tight.Would definitely purchase again.
Cons
  • Great product, seems very durable however does not fit my printer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works very well. best in my review

They work well to keep tension on older belts. It will take some tweaking to find the right settings, but that is better than loose belts.

Pros
  • Reduces the need for post-processing
Cons
  • The tensioner may add additional weight and stress to the printer's frame

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This tensioner works really well

I am using this on a custom frame 3d printer that is similar to the CR10 and AM8. It works really well and makes the Y Axis tension very tight and easy to adjust.

Pros
  • Perfect for adjustable tension to enders.Metal construction and easy to assemble and attach to printer.
Cons
  • Good idea! but horrible bearings, like thats the most important thing and they went cheap not good.

Poor QC Didn't fit on 40x40 frame

Ordered these for my Ender 3 Pro. The Y tensionor (and probably X) was even able to fit on the 40x40 frame of the printer. The correct size was sent (or at least that's what the label says). The tubing gap one the tensioner was at least 3-4mm smaller than what's necessary. Yes I might have been able to bend it to fit the part on but it's honestly just easier to return. If you don't want to take a chance of the part fitting or not find a different supplier.

Pros
  • Easy to adjust tension on the fly
Cons
  • The tensioner may cause issues with overall printer accuracy
