my printer loves this filament

I've printed with, esun, taulman, polymaker, overture, and a couple of other brands, and the hatch box is probably the best looking and printing filament I've ever used, now I'm giving it a four-star rating because a spool I just received was full of moisture and also the filament itself definitely isn't the strongest but hatchbox is definitely my go-to filament brand.

Pros
  • Hatchbox Brown PLA Filament offers a beautiful finish to your 3D prints
Cons
  • Prone to under-extrusion on certain printers

Most reliable filament I've used yet

(Context: Ender 3 pro with all-metal hot end)I'm really happy with this. It prints really easy, and is very forgiving, with one exception: the spool isn't wound particularly well. If I unroll it a bit an loosen it before I print, everything is good.Bed adhesion is merely OK, but if it adheres to the bed, I'm probably going to have a good print. Not the best for miniatures with fine detail, because it has a bit of a sheen to it, and the parts you clip off turn white-ish until smoothed out (I…

Pros
  • ‎Brown
Cons
  • May require special handling during transportation

Not impressed good for me

I have multiple Hatchbox PLA filaments and some ABS that I haven't tried out. I am a fan of their red and their yellow PLA. This stuff just doesn't print as nice. I don't know what the difference is. This stuff actually jammed my extruder as I got towards the end of the roll. I thought maybe it was wound too tight. Hatchbox always has very nice spools when you first open them up. Perfectly spooled. At about 800-850g in, I noticed that it didn't want to feed properly anymore. I think I'm just…

Pros
  • Hatchbox Brown PLA Filament has a low odor making it perfect for indoor use
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all applications

Color is more pink than purple

I actually had to buy a different companies purple because this was so pink. It does print well though! Great job on that aspect.

Cons
  • May break easily

What a great PLA! good for me

The plastic exceeds my expectations and was very easy to use and the prints came out amazing will definitely be using Hatchbox in the future.

Pros
  • This filament is great for making detailed models, especially those with intricate designs
Cons
  • Limited availability in certain spool sizes

The beige has more pink in it than I expected

I was looking for a traditional beige color. A kind of retro PC color and what I got was something that was oddly flesh toned. There was a pink hue to it. It printed phenomenal but was not the color I was looking for.

Pros
  • Filament interleaved causing failed prints due to snapped filament
Cons
  • May require additional time and expense for maintenance

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No tumbleweeds on my review.

After having tumbleweeds and no adhesion to the base plate with the filament that came with our 3D printer, it was a relief to use this filament and have instant success.

Pros
  • Brown PLA prints at a lower temperature, which means faster printing times and less energy usage
Cons
  • May require high printing temperatures

Very reliable: my feedback

This filament is very reliable. It's not the best and it's not the cheapest, but, it is very reliable and trustworthy. With some other filaments, if you have poor printing quality, you're not sure if it's your printer or your filament, but with this filament, you can be (fairly) sure that it's the printer.

Pros
  • 3D Printing Supplies
Cons
  • May give off unpleasant odor during printing

Great filament - my new review

There are some mixed reviews, people complaining about winding or whatever. Personally, I've had no issues at all. I ran it a little toward the high end of the heat range, and it's going great (about halfway through the spool). I've since ordered additional colors.

Pros
  • Never had any problems printing with this product. Well packaged and good products.
Cons
  • Not suitable for high-stress applications

Best brand for PLA on my review.

Hatchbox has never let me down on the quality. It is one of the brands that i repeatedly buy.Prints come out great and never had a line break during print,

Pros
  • This filament is ideal for creating visually appealing household items such as vases, frames, and other decorations
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with other filaments

Hatchbox brings reliable and quality 3d printing filaments

This was my first filament purchase, and was suggested by a friend who is well versed in 3d printing. I'm very happy with the print quality and have subsequently purchased several other Hatchbox filaments. The filament has nice color, good adhesion and print quality after dialing in my printer. So far I've run through 2kgs+ of hatchbox filaments and will be buying more.

Best Bang for yer Buck

I’ve used several PLAs since purchasing my Creality Ender 3v2 and none have performed as well as the Hatchbox product. In fact, the only criticism i could make is the spool is plastic. I’ve found other companies who used recycled cardboard and i thought that was a really nice touch. Perhaps Hatchbox will do the same some day.

Pros
  • With a consistent diameter, Hatchbox Brown PLA Filament produces smooth and precise prints every time
Cons
  • Can be more difficult to remove from the build plate than other filaments

Beautiful filament good for me

This has a beautiful deep red color to it and the print quality while using it was excellent. Good adhesion and smooth finish.

Pros
  • Hatchbox Brown PLA Filament is lightweight and durable, making it perfect for creating functional objects
Cons
  • May require extra cleaning after printing

Great if not tangled

I use hatchbox for most of my filiments. This time though. My black filiment came in tangled on the roll. It was I pain in the butt. I had to unspool the whole thing and get it back on in a neat fashion. I didn't want any bind ups.

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • Can be more prone to clogging than other filaments

Superb Quality - my new review

Been using Hatchbox for more than 2 years now, and can say nothing but good things about it. Very easy to use, and hadn’t had any complications at all. Highest rated Fdm printer Filament out there.

Pros
  • Brown PLA filament is an eco-friendly option as it’s made from biodegradable and compostable materials
Cons
  • May not adhere well to the build plate

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality PLA filament

This product is much better than two other PLA brands (which also have > 4.2 Revain rating) I used before. Using the same printer, calibration and almost the same printing settings (only the manufacture suggested nozzle temperatures are different), the quality is significantly better with Hatchbox.

Pros
  • Additive Manufacturing Products
Cons
  • Can be brittle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easiest filament I've ever printed.

This filament was well recommended and I can reiterate! It prints smoothly. It was easy to set up. It works wonderfully at a 0.08mm extrusion. I have made some beautiful parts with this. I'm a Hatchbox fan boy now!

Pros
  • ‎3D PLA-1KG1.75-731C
Cons
  • May produce poor quality prints with certain designs

My "Go To " PLA good for me

I've been 3D printing for over a year now. I had heard before I got into printing that Hatchbox was one of the better brands. I used it in the beginning, but then COVID hit, printer sales skyrocketed, and their filament production shut down. I started trying other brands out to see if there might be something better or at least as good as Hatchbox. Now that they have their production issues sorted out, I'm back to Hatchbox and will probably stick with it as much as possible. I have far fewer…

Pros
  • The filament sticks well to the print bed, requiring minimal use of adhesive tapes or sprays
Cons
  • Can produce noticeable shrinkage during cooling

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality on my review.

This is by far the best PLA filament on the market for the price. I’ve tried Revain Basics, Overture, and some cheaper stuff. But Hatchbox beats them all. It adheres to the printer bed without much help and really doesn’t clog my printer like lower quality filaments do. I’d highly recommend this!

Pros
  • The quality for price ratio is excellent, my prints have been coming out great!
Cons
  • May be more expensive than other PLA filaments

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great models. good for me

Only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because of price. Great model quality use on Prusa MK3s plus printers. Last year at school we used over 300 rolls. Will surpass that this year.

Pros
  • Brown PLA Filament is easy to work with and suitable for both novice and experienced 3D printing enthusiasts
Cons
  • May absorb moisture if not stored properly
