Am I the only one who keeps losing the remote control?

So I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who keeps losing the Fire Stick remote. I bought a remote strap to hold it on my remote but a couple of these broke. I bought this and just went to program and was frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to program it. I pressed the power button and my TV turned off. Somehow it was already programmed. I wish the battery compartment didn't close with screws, but other than that it works great.
