This is a good idea to make the fryer easier to clean. Our fryer's inner lining is peeling off, so we want something in between. Thus, the food is not contaminated. For this purpose it works. However, if you put this in the fryer, the food will go mushy. The paper collects water/liquid and the small holes don't allow it to drain fast enough. As a result, the food does not become crispy. The food tastes better without it. It's a good idea to keep the fryer clean, but unfortunately it doesn't guarantee good cooking in the fryer.
