Review on 🚀 AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G 7nm 3.7GHz 6-Core 12-Thread Processor (Tray) by Andres Callahan

During this pandemic, many of us have wanted to build a new PC to make staying at home more bearable. So I started looking for something that fit my budget but could also be upgraded later. There were two obvious CPU choices for me: a 4-core Ryzen 5 3400G with surprisingly good AMD integrated graphics, or a 6-core Ryzen 5 3600 with no integrated graphics. Then, when I started looking for graphics cards, I found that even older models like the GTX 1050 Ti and 1650 were selling for ridiculously high prices when they were even available. I've been watching YouTube videos of people playing various games on the 3400G and found that it can actually handle the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator tolerably on low to medium settings at 720p, and most other games on high settings at 1080p are almost perfect. But I still wanted to have 6 instead of 4 CPU cores. Then I heard rumors that AMD is selling this Ryzen 4000 series with same or better graphics as the 3400G but with 6 cores but only to OEMs. At Revain I finally found this 4650G that was available to us "civilian" home builders. It was everything I was looking for, running any game I could run the way I wanted (for my needs, not necessarily someone expecting 4K or VR etc) until the supply of discrete graphics cards filled the demand catches up. . I've always been nervous about building my own PC, especially something as small and fragile as a CPU, but it was actually one of the easiest parts to install and it came pre-installed with a fan with thermal paste already applied. If you were in a similar situation to me and were looking at a Ryzen 5 3400G and wished it had 6 cores like the 3600, then I definitely recommend you buy this 4650G instead.
