I bought this unit to protect a new and expensive air conditioner in a vacant apartment building. The previous packing block was stolen 2 months ago. I paid for a year of monitoring and quickly received a Trak-4 tracker. First, I had to try different locations within the package to allow the tracker to stably communicate with GPS satellites. The device worked perfectly for 9 days and then just switched itself off. The last report showed a battery life of 96%. Because the error occurred on a Sunday morning, I wasn't able to reach phone support until Monday morning. When contacted, the support agent told me that "this type of device error is RARE". He immediately offered to send me a new device and also gave instructions on how to do a "manual reset" to reset the current tracker. I paid for a NEW tracker and he assured me that my tracker should be NEW and not refurbished. I followed these instructions carefully and tried restarting the device 4 times. He never replied so it wasn't worth returning the DEAD tracker to the package. That night, thieves stole a brand new $2,500 package just two days before the new tenants were due to move in! I am devastated. Two lost air conditioners lost in a few months. The tenants demanded their money back. And yes, my new tracker arrived 2 days after the last theft.
