We recommend replacing the filter every 36 months, not every 8 months for me. I bought it 8 months ago and I see that it needs to be changed. The cold water pressure has dropped dramatically. This means it's time to change. So 36 months = 3 years. This is just an advertisement, many companies use the same technique. Either way, I'll still buy it. I have used it a lot. The taste of water is amazing. Only 4 stars because it claims 36 months otherwise a good and easy to install product.
